Annual Walkathon

MPAC’s annual Walkathon fundraiser is held in the fall.  It is our only school-wide fundraiser and has proved to be extremely successful.  It is a fun, healthy alternative to the typical product fundraiser.

Approximately 3 weeks prior to the event, students will bring home a pledge sheet/envelope asking for support from family and friends to reach their student goal of $25. The proceeds from this event, after expenses, provide funding for educational resources and activities including field trips and assemblies.

Students will show their school spirit while walking a paved course around school grounds for approximately one hour.  All students walk at the same time.  Along the course, they will stop at their grade-level celebration table manned by parent volunteers to have their lap cards stamped. Water stations are available along the course as well.  Students should wear comfortable shoes and dress according to the weather. There is always a rain date for the event.

Weekly raffles are held to promote student participation leading up to the event itself. Three grand prizes are awarded for the most money raised by the top three students in the school*.  Three classroom prizes are awarded for the most spirited classroom, the most money raised by one classroom, and the most laps completed by one classroom.

*Attention 7th & 8th Grade Students:

Any funds raised over $50 will be placed in the student’s 8th grade trip account held at the school upon request. The first $50 will go to MPAC, however, you may choose to contribute all raised funds to MPAC to be eligible for the top three grand prizes.
