Principal Welcome

At Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School, we believe that when we care for one another and hold high expectations, amazing things happen. This year, our entire school community came together with a shared purpose—to create an environment where every student feels safe, supported, and inspired to grow.

Our theme, “Come One, Come All—Caring Together, Achieving Together,” has guided our work and reminded us that belonging and achievement go hand in hand. From classrooms to town halls, student clubs to family partnerships, this mindset has shaped how we learn, connect, and lead—together.

We are proud to share that our collective efforts were recognized by the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS), which honored us with the School Climate Award and named us runner-up for Middle School of the Year. These recognitions speak to the heart of our community—our students’ voices, our staff’s unwavering dedication, and our families’ partnership and trust. It reflects the daily work we do to ensure that every child feels seen, valued, and capable of success.

This year, we also celebrated the launch of our Ray Scholars chapter of the National Junior Honor Society, showcasing student leadership, service, character, and academic excellence. We leaned into restorative practices, strengthened Tier I instruction, and deepened our commitment to literacy and student achievement through meaningful, student-led initiatives like book drives, bulletin boards, and classroom discussions.

None of this could have been achieved without our shared belief in what is possible when we work as one team. Thank you for being part of a community that leads with heart, lifts one another up, and never stops striving for what is best for our students.

Together, we are continuously building something truly special at Nathan Hale-Ray Middle School.
